In ancient wars past, wizards of great power created weapons of great destruction that needed no person to wield them but rather sought out enemies on the battlefield on their own. These were animated constructs that attacked their enemies much as rabid animals do until they received too much damage to continue fighting, at which point they exploded, taking their opponents with them. These constructs thus came to be known as living bombs. The typical bomb has a bulbous figure, looking much like a floating, flaming head with two small arms on its sides. The “face” of the bomb has eyes and a mouth but no teeth. The bomb appears to be entirely made of living flames but its actual body is typically a hollow ceramic sphere. The bomb’s burning appearance is a side effect of the elemental spirit used in its animation.

Bomb Lore
A character knows the following information with a successful Arcana check.
- DC 15: A bomb will normally bypass unarmed creatures as part of its magical programming. A bomb will typically attack all creatures if it has been commanded by its maker to guard a location against all intruders.
- DC 20: Although most bombs are no more than 4 feet in diameter, the most gifted crafters were known to have created a unknown number of truly enormous bombs that could wipe entire armies in a single explosive blast or split into a large number of smaller bombs as an unpleasant surprise. Most such bombs were sealed away or disposed of during peacetime.
Bomb Tactics
In battle, the bomb’s tactics include flying at quick speeds to ram a target or spewing flames from its mouth. The bomb targets the largest enemies first, in order to eliminate “soldiers that pose the greatest threat”. If an enemy uses an arcane power within sight of the bomb however, priority shifts to targeting that enemy. The war wizards that made the bombs were very much aware of the danger posed by wizards on the other side.
